Get to Halde

To get to Halde, you have several options:

Drive south on the E6 from Alta city centre for approximately 12.5 km.

Turn left after passing the Kåfjord bridge and follow the road for 1.5 kilometres.

Approximately 200m before you reach Kåfjord Church, you will find the car park on the right-hand side.

You can take bus 44 from Alta city centre to Kåfjord. The bus routes are regular and provide an easy and environmentally friendly way to get there.

An overview of departure times can be found at snelandia.no.

If you don't have a bike, we recommend borrowing a bike from BUA and cycle to Kåfjord.

Not only do you get a great bike ride, you also avoid parking problems.

The trail to Halde begins right by the car park. In the beginning it is a gravel road with a relatively good standard.

Follow the gravel road until you reach a barrier and continue up to Halde.

It's a 9 km walk from the road and about 900 metres in altitude.

Car park

There is a car park at the start of the hiking trail to Haldetoppen. You'll find it about 200 metres from Kåfjord Church.

If you're driving, make sure you park properly so you don't block others.

There is limited space in the car park.
